Stephen has been with us for a little over a year, but he is no stranger to the stormwater industry. I initially hired him at a previous company, and after 5 years, he came to work with us, bringing his vast experience and winning personality. I call him smiley because he’s always smiling! After a couple of months with the company, he instituted “Hawaiian Shirt Thursdays.” Now we all wear Hawaiian shirts on “Friday Eve,” as he likes to call Thursday. His winning, positive attitude makes him a natural salesman who is always looking out for his customer’s best interests. When he’s not at work, he can be found spending time with his wife and three young children…unless it’s a Saturday during college football season. Then you can find him glued to the TV. And everyone knows that he’s not to be disturbed from September through December!
I sat down with Stephen and asked him a few questions so we could all get to know him better. Here’s what he had to say:
Mark: If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
Stephen: College Football. If it were year round, I’d never leave the house.
Mark: Would you rather be the funniest or smartest person in the room?
Stephen: Funniest. I’m not smart enough to be the smartest person.
Mark: If you could meet any historical figure, who would they be?
Stephen: Abraham Lincoln
Mark: What three items would you bring on a desert island?
Stephen: My family, water, and sunblock.
Mark: What would you do if you won a million dollars?
Stephen: Put it in my retirement.
Mark: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Stephen: Norman, OK
Mark: What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?
Stephen: Tommy Boy. Because Chris Farley is hilarious, and his character in the movie is willing to sacrifice the family fortune to save the town.
Mark: What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?
Stephen: Going to Disney World and staying on-site.
Mark: What’s your dream job?
Stephen: Stormwater Professionals Group (He had to say this, didn’t he?)
Thank you, Stephen, for sharing. I am proud to have you as part of our team!
